Ensuring Equity Education for All
When I was just 24 days old, I became an orphan after losing both my parents. Fortunately, I was adopted by SOS Children's Village in Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where I was raised and sent to study at Hermann Gmeiner School. Here, I am incredibly thankful for the love and care I received from the Mothers, Social Workers, and dedicated education staff at the Village, who nurtured and educated me for 22 years, shaping my personal and professional journey.
In 2015, I graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy with a solid commitment to nurturing a passion for learning and a growth mindset for all disadvantaged students. This dedication led me to join the pioneer cohort of the Leadership Development program from 2017 to 2019. During that time, I worked as an English teacher at two public schools in Tay Ninh province, a place that holds a special significance as my birthplace and the final resting place of my biological parents.
These two years have been transformative, providing me with valuable lessons in servant leadership. However, the evident disparities in the education system that I observed firsthand fueled my determination to make a meaningful difference for marginalized students.
On that account, in December 2019, I founded Your-E Organization, registered as a Social Enterprise, with a mission of "Providing English courses that meet Cambridge standards, focusing on practicality and low learning costs for all underprivileged students.
Leveraging Technology to Promote Educational Equality
Even though I had the privilege of receiving an education from experienced top pedagogical teachers in the province, I always found myself struggling to keep up with the pace of my classmates. However, everything turned around when my physics teacher introduced me to an online learning website during my 11th grade.
Studying on that website, I gained a sense of learning empowerment for the first time. Being able to review the lectures repeatedly was highly beneficial for me as a slow learner. Thanks to this, I transitioned from being a passive listener in class to actively engaging with the material, pondering over lectures, and participating in meaningful discussions with friends through learning forums.
While participating in the Leadership Development Program 2018 - 2020 as a pioneering STEM fellow, I collaborated with schools and communities to tackle various issues within the public education system. This experience made me aware of the significant impact of leveraging information technology to better support students' learning.
In that spirit, I joined the founding team of Your-E Org, an innovative organization leveraging technology to promote educational equality. As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), I utilized information technology, including artificial intelligence and an online learning platform, to empower students to excel in their education. This progressive approach is leading toward a more equitable educational environment for all students, regardless of their background, promising a brighter future for education.

Locally Rooted, Globally Informed
After completing the Leadership Development Fellowship program's inaugural cohort from 2017 to 2019, I have been filled with abundant warmth and support. This has come from my dedicated teammates and the incredible community of Tay Ninh, where I was fortunate to spend two transformative years as a teacher.
Even after graduating, my strong desire to contribute to underserved students still resonates with me. As I observe the challenges in the foreign language teaching market, I am inspired and invigorated to use my teaching experience, knowledge, and professional training from Cambridge's CELTA to embark on a new educational leadership journey. As a result, I have developed and established the English curriculum at Your-E Org by Cambridge standards.
During its early days with Your-E Org, I envisioned a school that would not only prepare students for exams but also help them use English confidently and effectively. This school would also aim to instill in children a sense of pride in the beauty of Vietnamese identity and culture, following the value of Teach For All: locally rooted, globally informed.
Even though I no longer pursue a career in teaching, I am deeply grateful when looking back at my youth for 'getting lost on the right path' despite my imperfections. After years of following my new professional endeavors and revisiting the Your-E Org office, I am delighted to see that my initial aspirations have come to fruition.
Beyond the high-quality English programs, I firmly believe that the culture of positivity, enthusiasm, and purposefulness instilled at Your-E Org will inspire young Vietnamese individuals to strive for greater accomplishments.
