Nguyễn Minh Nghĩa, a sophomore majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, embodies the strength to rise from hardship and the courage to pursue a brighter future. 

Growing up in a poor working-class family, with a mother suffering from severe illness and a sister battling cancer, Nghĩa’s entire household relied on the unstable income of his father, a hired laborer. His education was repeatedly at risk of being cut short. Yet instead of giving in, Nghĩa chose perseverance. Guided by the belief that knowledge is the only key to changing one’s destiny, he endured those uncertain days and went on to achieve remarkable success: 12 consecutive years as an excellent student, numerous prestigious scholarships, and most notably, the title of Outstanding Student of 2025 - an honor awarded during the 35th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

What makes Nghĩa stand out is not only his academic achievements but also his outstanding leadership and management skills. As Vice Head of Communications for the Logistics & Supply Chain Club, he led a team of 12 members and successfully organized LOGPRIME, a national logistics competition that brought together 132 teams from Vietnam’s leading universities. He also serves as Secretary of his student union branch, a board member of the Nhat Tam Scholarship program, and a collaborator in nationwide logistics events.

Having overcome adversity to prove himself, Nghĩa now carries a greater aspiration for the community: to use his resilience and skills to create opportunities for other young people who share the same hardships. In the Operations Team, he is not only a student of resilience and talent, but also a living reminder that even in hardship, one can rise into the light, and from there, help light the way for others.
